The North Platte Concert
Association has been bringing the Performing Arts to North Platte for
over sixty years. The "Greater Artist Series" was organized in the late
1930's by a group of North Platte residents who appreciated the
performing arts and dreamed of the opportunity to experience them in
our community.
From that original organization, the association evolved to the "Civic
Music Association," the "North Platte Community Concert Association,"
and now the North Platte Concert Association.
The local board of directors has worked with various booking agencies,
including the famous Sol Hurok, to provide talent for the series.
At the present time, our booking agent is Allied Concert Services of
Minneapolis, MN, but we appreciate relationships with the Nebraska Arts
Council and Arts Across Nebraska - Lied Center for Performing Arts.
Famous artists have appeared in North Platte, including Jan Peerce,
Robert Merrill, Isaac Stern, Arthur Rubenstein, Victor Borge, Ferrante
and Teicher, the Vienna Boys Choir, the King Singers, the Glenn Miller
Orchestra, Maynard Ferguson, the Canadian Brass, the Montovani
Orchestra, and the Silver Cornet Band. Because of the interest and generosity of the people of west-central Nebraska, the North Platte Concert Association presents very talented artists who are the stars of tomorrow.
